Beginning of the Year

BES has had a great start to another exciting school year. Parents, you are doing a great job of getting your students to school on time. The morning traffic is moving smoother everyday. Thank you for following the traffic expectations and being safe at drop off.

Afternoon pick up can be a challenge. The way our parking lot is laid out, makes it difficult to create an effective traffic flow. The afternoon time requires some patience and common courtesy to other drivers and pedestrians. Please be patient with the other parents and do your best to keep the traffic moving.

The students are doing and excellent job of listening and following directions. We have worked on hallway procedures, classroom expectations and cafeteria manners. Overall, the kids are respectful and having a great time learning. If an issue arises with your child, please contact the classroom teacher to discuss the issue.

Communication is always important. If you have changes to your child's pick up plans, please call as early as possible to let the office know. The office will inform the teacher and your child.

The office staff is here to help: 940-689-2950

BES Open House

BES is excited to announce our first Parent Engagement Night of the 24-25 school year. On Sept, 24th, the campus will be open from 5:30-6:45 for parents and families. The kids have been working hard for the last few weeks and we are ready to show our families what we are learning.

Mrs. Green will be presenting some information on Title I to all parents in the cafeteria at 5:30. The resources and services provided at BES will be on display in the cafeteria as well. The teachers will be in the classrooms to show the parents what the kids are learning. Please join us for this fun evening of learning about BES.

For those unable to attend on the 24th, Mrs. Green will be presenting the Title I information again on Sept. 26th at 9:00am in the office.

Safety Response Protocol

Safety is a priority at BISD. All campuses follow the Safety Response Protocol from the https://iloveuguys.org/ organization. Your child will be participating in practice drills during the school year. We practice evacuate/fire drills every month. We also practice drills for Lockdown, Hold and Secure situations twice a year. For more information, please visit the iloveyouguys.org website or read more about the SPR in our campus handbook.

Parent Volunteers

BES is always looking for parents to get involved with our school activities. If you are interested in being apart of our school growth, please contact Heidi Hamilton at heidi.hamilton@bowieisd.net

or Kathy Green at kathy.green@bowieisd.net

Watch Dog Dads-This group of hard working dads come to the campus to support the staff and help the kids. They can do everything from traffic duty to reading with the kids.

Mentors- This group is assigned to individual students who need a positive role model and some individual attention from an adult.

Campus Improvement Team-This group works hand in hand with the principal to improve the campus safety and security, student achievement, school processes and community relations. This group meets 4 times a year.
