Mohegan Update 10/31

We had a great week at Mohegan Elementary School! Students in K-4 participated in JA for a Day and learned more about their community, work readiness and finances. We are thankful to all the volunteers who came in and helped. Mrs. Festa ran our UFLI parent workshop. We also had our pie-in-the-face assembly today and our Fall Celebrations. Thank you to all the parents and teachers who made this week so special.

ELECTION DAY

Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th. There is No School on Election Day.

VETERANS DAY

Mohegan School will be having a Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11th at 2PM. Veterans may sign up to attend our ceremony. We ask that Veterans arrive prior to 1:45 so we can review the ceremony with them. Veterans will also have an opportunity to go to classrooms and speak with the students if they want. If you have a family member who would like to come in and be a part of the ceremony and speak to the class of his/her family member, please sign up here. Please sign up by Friday, November 7th.

All students are asked to wear Red, White and Blue on November 11th in honor of Veterans Day.

PICTURE MAKE UP DAY

Student proofs from picture day were emailed to parents earlier this week. Picture make-up day is scheduled for Friday, November 7th. This is a make-up day for any student who did not get their picture taken on October 23rd.

PRE-K REMINDERS

As a reminder, the state of Connecticut requires all pre-K students ages 24-59 months to be vaccinated from the flu. Please see Nurse Cristina’s letter at the end of this newsletter.
