Notes from the Nurses Notes from the Nurses

Welcome back to the 2026 - 2027 NEW School YEAR! We are BOTH very excited to be here and welcome new and returning families! As you know, we reached out throughout the summer to update you on medical documentation that is REQUIRED by the state (and HPS :). We will soon reach out individually to connect with families who have requested us to do so.

We kindly ask that IF your student has a LIFE THREATENING allergy or Asthma, that you fill out all required paperwork and send that in, along with the documentation from their medical provider. At HHS, students may SELF-CARRY Epinephrine/ EpiPens/AuviQ/Neffy/Inhalers as long as both the MEDICAL PROVIDER & the PARENT/GUARDIAN gives us consent to.

Medications (Daily, As needed, Emergency): All medication orders and parent/guardian consent to administer the medication, need to be renewed at the beginning of each NEW academic year and/or as necessary during the academic year. Instructions on how to drop off medication for your student and/or additional forms can be found on our website: Holliston Public Schools Health Office.

Please ensure you have all the completed documents detailed in the Medication Authorization Packet when you drop off the medication, this includes a signed medication order(s) from a licensed healthcare provider.

In addition, please remember to fill out the medication permission questions on the annual verification form. This allows us to give your student certain medications (for example tylenol and ibuprofen), without a phone call to a parent/guardian for permission.

We hope you have a healthy start to the school year! Please reach out to let us know how we can best support your student (and your family!)

School Council - Members Needed School Council - Members Needed

Holliston High School is seeking parents or guardians to serve on our School Council. Established under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C, the School Council is an advisory group that brings together the principal, parents and guardians, teachers, community representatives, and students to support ongoing school improvement.

If more than three parents or guardians express interest in serving on the School Council, representatives will be selected through an election conducted by our recognized Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). All parents and guardians of students attending Holliston High School will be eligible to vote. We welcome candidates who are interested in learning more about HHS, contributing thoughtfully to school-wide conversations, and representing the perspectives of our families. (Please note that these are open meetings and you do not have to be an elected member to attend)

In accordance with Massachusetts law, the School Council meets regularly to:

  • Contribute to the development of the annual School Improvement Plan.
  • Review the student handbook each spring and consider potential changes to disciplinary policies for the following school year, as outlined in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 37H.

The School Council serves in an advisory capacity and provides an important opportunity for families, educators, students, and community members to share perspectives and support the continued growth of Holliston High School. We encourage interested parents and guardians to consider becoming involved and helping us strengthen the educational experience of all HHS students. If you are interested please reach out to David List at listd@holliston.k12.ma.us.
