Heritage Middle School Promotion
Promotion Practice
We are excited to celebrate our students’ promotion from middle school to high school!
On Thursday, May 28th, 2026, students will be dismissed early at 11:30 AM. It is important that all students attend school that day, as we will be rehearsing for the promotion ceremony. At 11:30 AM, there will be a special clap-out for all 8th-grade students. Families are welcome to participate by lining up along the sidewalk on 31st Street, near the entrance of Heritage Middle School (heading toward Grove Avenue).
Gowns and Tickets
Promotion gowns, 4 promotion tickets and a printed copy of the ceremony details will be sent home with students on Tuesday, May 26th. Students will be receiving it at school during periods 8 and 9.

The promotion ceremony will be on Thursday, May 28th, at 5:00 PM at Morton West High School.
Heritage Middle School students should arrive at Morton West and enter through Door 27 at 4:15 PM. The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 PM.
Parents, Families, & Friends will enter through Door 24 and be allowed into the Morton West Auditorium at 4:30 PM. All attendees (including small children) must have a ticket. Each student will receive 4 tickets.
Morton West security will require all families to walk through their metal detectors. Please see the visual of what is prohibited.
If a student has extra tickets, they may return them to the school office, as some families have requested additional tickets. No additional tickets will be available unless tickets are turned in for redistribution.
No strollers, balloons, & noisemakers are allowed in the ceremony.
All 8th-grade students participating in the 8th-grade ceremony should wear dress attire (ie, dress pants, dress shirts, dresses). No jeans should be worn. Shoes should be suitable for walking up/down stairs and on uneven ground.
Students should have their families hold on to their purses and cell phones.
Attendees are asked to stay in their seats until all graduates and staff have exited the auditorium at the end of the ceremony.
After the ceremony, students will go out Door 24 and meet their families by the clock.
There is another ceremony after Heritage, so Morton will be asking families to leave Morton West campus directly after the ceremony to ensure a smooth transition for the next ceremony
