Sophomores Explore Career Pathways at NE Tech
Adair High School sophomores recently attended the Northeast Tech Pryor Sophomore Showcase, an exciting event designed to introduce students to a wide range of hands-on career and technical education opportunities.
During the showcase, students toured multiple program areas, met with instructors, and experienced interactive demonstrations in fields such as health sciences, welding, automotive technology, computer science, cosmetology, construction trades, and more. These sessions gave students a first-hand look at potential career paths and the skills required for each.
Attending the showcase offers significant benefits to students. It helps them:
-
Explore career interests early and make more informed decisions about their high school coursework and postsecondary plans.
-
Discover programs that align with their strengths and passions, including opportunities to earn industry certifications while still in high school.
-
Learn about hands-on training and real-world experiences that can lead directly to high-demand careers or further education after graduation.
-
Connect with experienced instructors and industry professionals, giving them valuable insight into future career fields.
Adair Public Schools is proud to partner with Northeast Tech Pryor to ensure students are exposed to a variety of career pathways. Experiences like the Sophomore Showcase empower students to set meaningful goals, explore their options, and prepare for success beyond high school.
🌊 AHS Students Dive Into the Waterways Project! 🚢
Adair High School students participated in the Waterways Project at the Port of Catoosa, gaining hands-on experience and insight into Oklahoma’s vital role in inland waterway transportation.
Students explored how goods move through our state’s port system, learned about real-world career opportunities, and connected classroom lessons to practical applications in engineering, logistics, and environmental stewardship.
Experiences like these open doors for our students and help them envision exciting futures right here in Oklahoma! 🙌🌟
