Preston Smith Stars' News

Remember that all students will be a part of class pictures. Dress to impress and be sure your students are at school on time! Class pictures are pre-pay only with extra order forms available in the front office.

We are excited to have our superintendent, Dr. Kathy Rollo, join our PTA meeting. We would love for all families that are available to attend in person. We also have a virtual participation option available here: https://meet.google.com/nnu-dcvq-gbt

Our school is named for former Governor of Texas, Preston Smith. We work to help our students learn about our school's history and celebrate the rich traditions that have developed over the 37 years. One of these is celebrating Preston Smith's birthday by wearing polka dots on March 8th. Encourage your student to participate in the fun!

Our Student Council is once again partnering with HEB to participate in a plastic bag recycling project from March 3-April 4. All students are encouraged to collect plastic bags (from stores or restaurants) from friends and family members to be recycled and bring them to their homeroom class. Our student council will pick up bags and keep counts each week. All plastic bags will be turned in for the recycling project after April 4th!

Our Student Council will announce a winner from PK-2nd grade and from 3rd-5th grade. Thanks for your help!

Spring Break is March 17-24. We hope you enjoy your break and have lots of fun!

Please note that Monday, March 24th is a staff development day. All students will return to school on Tuesday, March 25th.
