Principal's Message Principal's Message

Good afternoon,

Today, Fremont Middle School conducted its first fire drill in coordination with the Countryside Fire Protection District. We are pleased to share that the students responded exceptionally well. They followed directions promptly, remained calm, and exited the building quickly and safely. This drill is a vital part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and preparedness of all students and staff in the event of an emergency.

We would like to thank the team from the Countryside Fire Protection District for their support and guidance during the drill. Their presence and expertise help reinforce the importance of emergency procedures and provide a valuable learning experience for our entire school community.

Looking ahead, we will continue our safety preparedness efforts with additional drills, including the Rally Point and ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) drills. These exercises are designed to prepare students and staff for a range of potential scenarios in a way that is age-appropriate and supportive. As always, our priority is to maintain a safe and secure environment where students feel protected and confident in their ability to respond to emergencies.

We appreciate your continued support as we work together to keep our school community safe.

Please see our morning announcements for the week of September 22nd.

Please remember that we do not have school on Tuesday, September 23rd.

Have a great weekend!

Emily Loerakker

We’re thrilled to collaborate with these organizations to help our students develop relationships with these trusted partners.

Parent Internet Content Filtering Resource Parent Internet Content Filtering Resource

FSD79 is partnering with Securly to provide internet content filtering on student-issued devices. Securly offers registered parents/guardians the opportunity to participate in the online safety of their children by providing access to view their student’s internet activity within the Securly Home Web Portal or the Securly Home App (available on both Android and iPhone). The Securly Home App has additional features that allow parents/guardians to receive push notifications on flagged activity, schedule when their student's device is offline, and pause and unpause their student’s internet usage on the school-issued device while away from school.

Starting next week, parents/guardians who have not already registered will receive a "Welcome to Securly” email from noreply@securly.com to complete their registration. Registered parents/guardians will receive weekly activity reports, offering a snapshot of their child’s internet use on the school-issued device.

For more information on Securly Home Web Portal and Securly Home App, click here. To log into the Securly Home Web Portal via a web browser, click here.

For registration issues, please contact Craig Albers, Director of Information Systems and Network Security.
