Classes and Clubs
Created for people who love books by people who love books, the English Student Organization (ESO) hosts fun activities like Rant Nights and Game Nights, as well as friendly discussions of favorite authors, books, and movie adaptations. The club also sponsors a book sale every spring. Grace Gibson, president of ESO, says her favorite thing about the club is the atmosphere. “The ability to be in a fun social environment with other people who love English is probably the best thing about it. Also it’s a good way to connect with professors.” Meetings are held every Thursday night at 7pm in Faculty Hall 105. Join them this week for their Halloween Party! Dress like your favorite author and prepare your spookiest stories to share with the group. All students are welcome, regardless of major!
CHFA at Tent City
Murray State turns 100 this year, and many events celebrating the centennial will take place this weekend as part of MSU's annual Homecoming festivities. CHFA will be celebrating during Tent City at the Roy Stewart football stadium. Stop by tent #14 next to the scoreboard and the band for refreshments, t-shirts, pins, giveaways, a photo booth, and a special CHFA Jeopardy game! Student organizations attending from the college include Alpha Mu Gamma (AMG) Foreign Language Honors Society, Japanese Club, Phi Alpha Theta & History Club, Students of Sociology, and the Psychology Club & Psi Chi. Find out about all of our academic programs, too. Stop by and say hello!

CHFA Faculty Showcase
The 2023 CHFA Showcase aims to feature the stories behind our faculty’s work -- stories that can inspire and connect us while also providing insight into a particular topic or process. The Showcase will take place on Friday, February 3 at 3:00pm in the Performing Arts Hall. Any full-time CHFA faculty member can submit a presentation proposal. Presentations by a group of faculty are eligible for submission, too. Each presenter will receive a $500 honorarium. In the case of a group presentations, the honorarium will be divided equally among the presenters. The guidelines and submission link are available on the CHFA Dashboard. The deadline for submission is Friday, November 4, 2022, at 4:00pm.
