Hoben Family Connection
Together we strive for a better hive! October 4, 2026
Word of the Month: HONESTY!
Our Word of the Month for October is HONESTY — being true in what you say and do!
Each month, we'll highlight a word that connects to what we believe in at Hoben:
- Help Others
- Own our Choices
- Be our Best Self
- Enthusiastic About Learning
- Never Give Up
Talk with your child about what honesty looks like at home — telling the truth even when it's hard, keeping promises, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching!
Assessment Season Update
Our support staff are currently using NWEA and/or WIDA results to identify students who may benefit from extra support. Your child may work with:
- Mrs. Beshears & Mrs. Meza-Cunningham — Multilingual Learners
- Mrs. Benedict-Trail — Math Intervention
- Mrs. Merritt — Reading Intervention
If your child qualifies, their support teacher will contact you directly with more information. Thank you for your flexibility during assessment season — we're grateful for your partnership!
Reminder: Education & Nutrition Benefits Form
All Hoben families are encouraged to complete this form — even if you don't think you'll qualify. Every response matters!
- 🏛️ School funding: Completed forms help secure Title I funding for interventions, tutoring, and classroom supports that benefit all students.
- 🍎 Meal access: The form helps keep your child's school meal access uninterrupted.
- ✅ Family benefits: Many families are surprised to learn they qualify — including fee waivers and extra supports.
It only takes a few minutes. Thank you!
