Principal Message Principal Message

As the weather warms the work continues at Wildwood School.

This week we had pizza hot lunch sponsored by Mile 14 Holdings.

We also had our last bus to swim for the year. Thank you to Mrs. Kowalchuk and Mrs. Swinkels for supervising this program.

Our K/1 Class enjoyed a field trip to Violet Gardens & Greenhouse with Evansview School. 4

This week Miss Weninger and Mr. Stoyles were away for two days to attend VTRA training. This training is utilized to make sure our schools and communities are safe. Working across multiple organizations to provide support and interventions.

On this upcoming Monday we have our wrap up for k-3 Basketball, I want to send a special thank you to Miss Weninger and Mrs. Swinkels for making this amazing program happen for our students. On Tuesday we have out School Council meeting after school.

The annual Wildwood Math night is also upcoming, it will be on May 20th from 4-5pm. Join us for games ran by our grade 4 class.

Bus Registration

For all new students who enroll between March 16, 2026, and June 26, 2026, and who require bus transportation for the 26-27 school year, parents must submit a School Bus Registration on the GYPSD website (School Bus Registration tab) by June 30, 2026.

This deadline also applies to returning students who require bus transportation for the 2026-27 school year. A snapcode is not required to complete the School Bus Registration.

Community Contribution

As you all know this will be the last year of Wildwood School. As part of that I have been sharing bits of our schools history. If you have bits of history or artifacts that you would like to share please email or call Mr. Stoyles so we can share parts of the school's past as we get ready for a new future in September.

As always feel free to reach out regarding any questions or concerns by calling the school at 780-325-3858 or emailing me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca.

Sincerely,

Alan Stoyles

Another wonderful week at Wildwood School.

We are sure enjoying this beautiful weather and spending a lot of time outside.

Thank you to our Parent Council for the Wildwood School Hoodies!

Also another Thank You to the Parent Council for Pizza Hot Lunch on Tuesday!

We are very grateful!

What we got up to:

Working on our name still, as we would really like to master this for Kindergarten.

We did a Shapes scavenger hunt outside at our playground.

We did a nature scavenger hunt as well, using tools for motor skills.

We had a fun time at the Purple Park with our K/1 friends for Gym.
We are focusing a little more on manners, following instructions, social skills and problem solving within our peers. This will also help us come to Kindergarten when we have more friends in our class.

Our littles have mastered putting their belongings away and getting ready for the class in the morning, all on their own! They have also mastered packing up and getting ready to go home at the end of the day! :)

Info:

  • Please Note: With warmer weather and spending more time outside, please send to school appropriate weather wear. Example: Sun Screen, Sun Hat and Water Bottles! Also having an extra change of clothes might be ideal, in case they get wet or muddy.

Thank you,

Ms. Y - JK Program Coordinator.

Wildwood School: Legacy Hoodies Wildwood School: Legacy Hoodies

This year all students at Wildwood School received a hoodie from School Council. The logo represents the history of Wildwood School; from our past as the Wasps to our time as the Wolves. If members of the community are interested in ordering one for themselves that can be done through our office.
