Liberty Library
End of October, 2027
So far this month in the Liberty Library we had over 4500 students, mostly 11th and 12th graders, in for open periods, to read, study, and or relax. In addition, students came with classes and as individuals for library book check outs, and textbook or Literature circle book checkouts. We circulated 750 library books and 650 textbooks. The labs and conference rooms were scheduled for testing, classes, conferences, podcasting, and club meetings.
We moved the Fantasy fiction section! If you head to the West side of the library, known as the STORM area, you won't find Fantasy there anymore. It was a big process to get one of the shelves without wheels relocated. We had to map out where the shelf would move to, condense non-fiction, move the shelf, move the Biography books, move Fantasy fiction, then spread out non-fiction. Was it worth the time and effort? 100% yes! Fantasy circulation is up, and it makes organizational sense, plus there isn't a dark, cramped spot over by the side exit.
