Dear NMS Families,

We’re excited to kick off a wonderful new school year at New Martinsville School! A warm welcome to all of our returning Eagles and an especially big welcome to our new students and families—we’re glad you’re here.

Last week, we welcomed our Preschool and Kindergarten families with an open house and all of our returning students in grades 1-8. Over the next few weeks, you will receive many vital messages and forms. While a great start to the year is important, some families may feel overwhelmed in trying to get EVERYTHING ready. Don't stress, just take it one day at a time. Remember that the school year is 180 days. With academic achievement, a great start is not as important as a strong finish. If you miss an essential form, I can assure you that we will send you a reminder. If you need another copy you may download or request another one. Also, if there is a bus your student can ride, we strongly recommend putting your student on the bus rather than picking up. We are not able to accommodate the amount of parking spots needed. If you choose to pick-up, please try not to block entrances/exits and other vehicles so we can get cars in and out as quickly as possible.

We will take each day, week, and month at a time. We are excited to start the year, but if you are feeling overwhelmed or have questions, please give us a call and let us help! We can do this!

Let's go to work,

S. Walton
Principal

Tips

  • Students must obtain a bus pass in order to ride a bus to an alternate location.
  • Students must obtain a bus pass to ride a different bus. Even if this is for a daily babysitter. If it isn't their normal bus, they must have a pass.
