BHMS Principal's Update 2/11/24
2023-2024 School Year Edition v16
Keeping Up with What is Going on at the Hill!!!
Hi Bulldog Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful SuperBowl Sunday. The morning started off yesterday as the community got together to make over 3,000 hoagies to support others in the community. This is a wonder endeavor and something in which Washington Township takes great pride. Moreover, during Black History month, we continue to focus on contemporary leaders who have made their mark on Black History. This month Bunker Hill will recognized four contemporary difference makers. Last week we recognized Nicholas Johnson of Princeton University.
We are also launching our Trustworthy Month and are gearing up for our 2nd PAWcast for this month.
Sincerely,
Mike D'Ostlio

8th Gr Scheduling for 9th Grade Courses
Check out the information from counselor Dr. Morros
Hello, Bunker Hill Grade 8 Students and Parents/Guardians:
Please find attached and links below useful tools and information to assist students and parents/guardians with choosing grade 9 high school elective courses. Classroom counseling for all grade 8 students regarding elective choices will occur in ELA classes between February 1st and February 9th. During classroom counseling, I will introduce students to the scheduling process. Students will enter elective choices into PowerSchool during social studies classes on Monday February 12th. The deadline for any requested schedule change is May 1, 2024.
Please note that only elective choices will be entered into PowerSchool on February 12th. Core academic courses will be selected when students meet their high school counselor in the Bunker Hill Media Center in mid-April.
Also attached is the Personalized Student Learning Plan for grade 9 students. This is a good worksheet with course numbers that can be referenced to find course descriptions in the program of study.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me directly, and do not reply to this email. Thank you. I look forward to working with you and your student(s) regarding high school scheduling.

FutureActs is the most philanthropic club at the middle level
The Washington Township middle school FutureActs Clubs are dedicated to the cause of community service, and two of their biggest events take place in November and December.
In November, the clubs provide Thanksgiving meals to around 200 families in the District. In December, they assist with providing holiday gifts.
In order to support our struggling families, FutureActs has created a Microsoft Form in order to gather information of families in need. If you or someone you know is in need for the upcoming holidays, please go to this link so FutureActs can offer there support as needed
Thanks so much!
