Admin Corner
Today I want to congratulate our Key Club! If you're not familiar, Key Club is a student-led community service organization. They received a Pacific Northwest Opportunities Grant of $900 for a project, which is amazing! I asked their advisor, Mrs. Laurie Norris, about this project and here is what she told me...
We will be making 190 winter care packages for homeless youth in cooperation with an organization called Coffee Oasis that specializes in supporting youth needs in Pierce County. Our group has already volunteered once this year with them, so it will be great to continue to foster this partnership. Key Club members will be compiling hygiene items and winter essentials like hand and foot warmers, beanies, and emergency blankets with the idea that they will donate the completed packages right around the first of the year.
I'm so proud of our young adults who choose to step into leadership positions, assess need, create plans to help, seek resources, and then organize and act in ways that make a real difference. They are working selflessly to make our community a better place. Kudos Key Club!
It's another great day to be a Sentinel. - Jake
