Bulldog Beat 04/14/25 to 04/17/25

Congratulations to Valley's 4-H History Bowl competitors who took second place overall. They won their first two rounds, lost by one question in their third round, the fourth round saw them winning, and in their last round they were two questions shy of the championships. They worked so hard for weeks and on Tuesday to win. We are so proud of all of their hard work and sportsmanship.

Valley Grandparents were invited to attend Community in Schools' Grandparents Brunch and Learn: Social Media Safety seminar. Travis Howard with the Virginia State Police spoke to families about keeping your students safe on social media. Thank you to all of the families who came out to support our students, thank you Mrs. Hardin for coordinating this event, and thank you Travis Howard for educating our families and students.

Congratulations to Valley's Q3 Top Readers. We are so proud of the hard work our students are doing. This quarter's winners were treated to a pizza lunch with the principal. Congratulations on all of your hard work. We are so proud of you all.

Valley's first grade got to spend some time learning by chilling with peeps. They observed what happens to peeps when they are placed in vinegar, water and soda. They focused on the effect of sinking and floating when these different variable were added to the Peeps. The experiment then ended with making peep houses. They had a great time work through these stem activities.

Thank you to Warren S. and his father for sharing a French horn with first grade's music class. They had so much fun learning about the instrument that represented the Wolf in Peter and the Wolf. Warren did a great job sharing about the French horn.

We would like to thank all of our families that have donated to the PBIS store. Students are excited to be able to spend their Bulldog Bucks they are earning during the 3rd nine weeks. The 3rd nine weeks PBIS store will be March 12, 2025. If you would still like to donate, please review the attached letter below.

VIES is looking for parent volunteers to assist with various events and activities throughout the school year. If you are interested, please contact the school to learn more about the background check process and possible opportunities.

We have several ways to stay connected to your child's education and teachers. Every parent has access to ParentPortal which allows you to see grades and attendance. You can register on the county website if you have not already signed up or you can call the school and request your student's login information.
