Samsung Field Trip 9/5/2025
The learners had a lot of fun at the Samsung mobile repair center today. This is one of only two facilities in the United States that repairs Samsung devices and the only one that does only mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc. The learners were able to take apart a phone and put it back together while also learning the different part names. They were also able to see the process in full inside of the laboratory where they were able to completely dismantle a phone, removing it, putting it back together, and sealing it back up again. The people at Samsung were incredibly generous by giving us their time and facility, and were incredibly generous.

Subject: Staying Connected: Partnering with Parents for Student Success
September 3, 2025
Dear Plano ISD Parents and Guardians,
In Plano ISD, we deeply value our partnership with you. As the most important advocates for your children, your voice matters and our ability to listen, respond and engage directly with you is vital to ensuring every student thrives.
This year we have taken efforts to reestablish and reinforce the way we communicate with our families and communities.
Communication Channels & Direct Sources
To make sure you always have access to accurate and timely information, we encourage you to connect with us through the following direct channels:
Plano ISD Website: The most reliable and accurate source for district updates, resources and announcements.
Plano ISD Official Social Media Channels: The best resource for the latest information and announcements.
Let’s Talk!: Our interactive platform where you can submit questions, concerns or compliments directly to the appropriate department, district/campus leader or the Board of Trustees.
Campus Newsletters & District Updates: Delivered straight to your inbox with the latest updates relevant to your child’s school and the district.
Two-Way Messaging: Secure, district-monitored platforms—SeeSaw (elementary), Talking Points (secondary and fine arts) and SportsYou (athletics)—provide timely two-way communication between families, staff and students without requiring an app.
Board Meetings: Open to the public, livestreamed and archived on the district website, providing firsthand updates on district initiatives and decisions.
Board Briefs: Frequent, short updates summarizing recent Board of Trustees meetings and decisions, helping families stay informed on district governance.
Community Input Meetings: Open to parents for in person feedback to the school board and district leadership.
Straight from the Source Web Page (coming soon) & Recent Media Topics: Dedicated resources for accurate information that addresses misconceptions, provides clarity and empowers families and the community to get reliable answers directly from Plano ISD.
In a world where social media can sometimes spread misinformation or incomplete stories, it is more important than ever to stay grounded in truth and facts from the direct source.
We also invite you to visit Plano ISD Connect where we provide timely, accurate updates and information, along with our district Code of Civility page that outlines our shared commitment as a school community.
Steps for Addressing Concerns
We want every parent to know their concerns will be heard and addressed. If you have a question or complaint:
Start with the source closest to the concern, your child’s teacher or campus principal.
Use Let’s Talk! or direct email/phone communication if further support is needed.
Reach out to district leadership if the issue remains unresolved.
We are committed to walking with you through every step. We welcome your feedback because it strengthens our partnership in solving challenges together.
Our Shared Commitment
We believe that healthy communication is not only about solving problems but also about building trust. By focusing on facts, using our official channels and engaging with one another directly, we can ensure that our shared focus remains on supporting every student’s growth, achievement and success.
With gratitude and commitment,
Plano ISD Board of Trustees and Leadership
