Broadmoor's Weekly Wildcat News!
April 19, 2026
Last Day of School is Now May 20, 2026!
Dear BES Families,
State assessments are winding down and over for most of our students! They did a fantastic job and we are ready to celebrate!
Check the "Upcoming Dates!" section below - we have volunteer training, 3rd grade field trip, and our 5th grade transition day this week! We also have PTO's Donuts with Grown-ups coming soon. It is VERY important that you sign-up for this event. Thank you for understanding- we need to have our numbers to the kitchen and we cannot guarantee donuts if you aren't signed up.
The big news from this week was the last day of school being changed to May 20th! All students at BES will be dismissed at 11am.
Spring is really bouncing right now and the fun end-of-year activities and projects are in full swing!
Have a great week,
Cindy Apple, Principal

Update from Mrs. McIntire
It's Time for our May Day Baskets!
This month we learn about the mindset, LIVE TO GIVE. Students will be talking about how being your best benefits the world around you, how doing good things brings good things in return, how to receive gracefully and how to create a legacy by having a positive impact on the world. We will wrap up the month by making our May Day baskets in STEM class~ to share our time and talents and brighten someone's day. . They will be delivered to BES neighbors on or around May 1.

Support For Our Families
Hello Wildcat Family and Friends!
The USD 416 Social Worker/Counseling team created a Community Resource Guide to assist our families with a wide array of resources that families in need may find helpful. Resources include everything from free Prom Boutiques, utility assistance, mental health and so much more. If your family could use a little extra support, we hope you find our Community Resource Guide helpful. Please refer to the contact page on the Community Resource Guide website if you would like further assistance from your child's building Social Worker/Counselor.

Attendance and School Calendar
Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.
Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!
If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.
GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!
