“Blessed are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways.” Psalm 128
My dear brothers and sisters, Merry Christmas!
We continue our Christmas celebrations by focusing on the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
Just as God had deemed it worthy and appropriate that He should come into this world through a virgin-woman, Mary, he also gifts to her a husband in Joseph, who would in turn become the stepfather and guardian to Jesus, the Son of Mary, the Son of God. This Holy Family is to be for us a model of what every family, every household, is called to be: filled with grace—abiding with Emmanuel… Jesus, God-with-us, Who saves.
Reflecting on this is a reminder to take a moment and cherish the wondrous gift God has given to us through the lives of our immediate family; but not just them, but to our extended families as well, which includes our parish family.
The beauty in which God chose to reveal His plan of salvation to the world is a reminder of how He desires for us to come together, as He had intended since the very beginning of time, to be a part of His family.
When we reflect on our Christmas tradition, whether it is at church or at someone’s home, it is a call to gather and celebrate the Gift of a Life: Jesus, Who IS God. A call to gather TOGETHER AROUND Jesus. At every celebration of the Mass, this Divine Liturgy, whenever and wherever it takes place, take a moment to look around and see how people have gathered together for This singular purpose. And this people who have gathered are called to be in COMMUNION with one another, with Jesus leading… together in Holy Communion… as a Holy Family.
Take a moment to thank God for the “family” that He has placed in your midst. Even when there are challenges that come with the relationships in our lives, how blessed we are to be part of a family.
Pray also, that each and every one of us, would allow ourselves to be led and guided by Jesus, the head of our family, our household, that our love would increase for Him and one another. He is the glue to the family bringing together those who we might not have thought could come together. In His perfection, He perfects our imperfections.
Christmas blessings to all!!!
Jesus, Mary, & Joseph, raise your hands and bless us! Pray for our families at home and in our parish!
Fr Peter

Celebrating the Christmas Season with Buddies!
The Kindergarten/Eighth Grade Buddy Program is a long-standing tradition at Presentation and has resulted in some beautiful friendships forming that often last far beyond the years the students spend at Presentation. It’s so wonderful to watch them grow together and get to know each other throughout the year. They recently enjoyed a Christmas party together making gingerbread houses and exchanging gifts. The gingerbread houses tuned out great and the kids had a blast! An extra special thanks to parishioner and parish employee Karen Simons for bringing her building expertise as well as the best icing around to keep the houses standing!
