District Update #71 10/27/23 News from the Superintendent's Office

Community Forum #2: Thursday, November 2 from 5:30 - 7:30 at PVRS Community Forum #2: Thursday, November 2 from 5:30 - 7:30 at PVRS

Whew! Things are moving at a blistering (and exciting!) pace around here.

Earlier today, I shared the incredible news about the district's return of $740, 214 to our member towns.

The Facilities Master Plan process is also on the list of projects developing significant momentum.

We learned last night from our colleagues at CannonDesign that your rate of participation in Community Survey #1 was among the highest they have ever seen in any district in the country!

Let that sink in.

To review a summary of survey results, see the slides Cannon shared last night.

The next phase of this collaborative process now begins. We invite all families, students, staff, and community members to participate in Community Forum #2 to discus planning for our future.

Community Forum #2

Thursday, November 2

5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

PVRS Library

Food available at 5:00 p.m.

Childcare starts at 5:15 p.m.

Food

No worries about getting yourself and the kids fed. Pizza, salad, and cookies will be available at 5:00 p.m. in the library.

Childcare

The marvelous Deb Wood, our CFCE Coordinator, will be providing childcare with the assistance of PVRS National Honor Society students. Childcare is open to children who are one-year old through fifth grade. Families must pre-register for childcare by Wednesday afternoon.

Sound amplification

Our tech team will set up microphones and speakers so that it's easier to hear each other and the presenters.

Why participate in the Forum?

  • So you can hear important information about our facilities directly from Cannon - including results of the building assessments recently completed.

  • So you can provide your own feedback on the draft options Cannon will share for how we might configure our schools in the future.

  • Because knowledge is power. The more informed we are, the better able we will be to make good, long-term decisions that are grounded in facts and our community's values.

On the night of the Forum, we will share a link to Community Survey #2 . Stay tuned for that notice.
