    • Wayne High School Speech and Debate - the up-and-coming team, in its second year, hosted a competition this season, and four students advanced to the state competition

    • Wayne High School Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track Teams - both squads won the state indoor track meet on March 6, and there were seven individual or relay state champions across both teams

  • Valley Forge was the spotlight school of the month. Mrs. Molfenter and Ms. Burkholder highlighted student progress on district diagnostic assessments from fall to spring, while 5th-grade art students showed off their artwork. Visit https://tinyurl.com/3dcnszdn to access their presentation.

  • The Board rescinded an MOU approved in February and approved a modified MOU as required. The June 2 staff development day will be a paid date on April 18 (a non-contract day for teachers), provided the required professional development documentation has been submitted by March 31. This permits retiring employees to qualify for their retirement benefit from STRS in June.

  • The WHS Future Healthcare Workers student organization was approved to travel to Toledo on April 8-10 to participate in their state leadership conference. This trip is funded through career tech funds received by the district.

  • An extensive March policy update has been provided by the Ohio School Boards Association. The Board conducted the first reading of the proposed new and revised policies. No action was taken. The Policy Committee will convene on March 20 to begin reviewing the policies and determining recommended permissive language for the second reading of the policies scheduled for April 10.

  • The Board approved purchased service contracts/agreements for ongoing support of various district operations.

  • With a new AFJROTC instructor beginning in April at WHS, an MOU was needed to ensure compliance of compensation that meets Air Force requirements. This MOU was approved.
