SCHOOL DOORS OPEN at 9:10AM

Neabsco Star Parents,

Let's finish off this school year, strong! It is important to arrive to school on time each day! Arriving early helps your child:

start their morning calmly
connect with friends
be ready to learn from the very first moment

When students miss the opening minutes, they can miss important instructions and set a rushed tone for the day. Thank you for helping your child build strong habits that support their success.

KISS AND RIDE

We are in the last quarter of the school year, please don't forget the following times and procedures set in place to keep everyone safe:

Kiss n’ Ride runs 9:10–9:20AM and 4:00–4:15 PM.
No backing up, turning around, stopping in the middle, or leaving cars unattended. Pull ahead and follow staff directions.
The front driveway is for buses and deliveries, closed to families between 8:45 and 4:30PM (Not for Kiss and Ride or drop-offs)
Students must enter/exit vehicles on the sidewalk side only — never walk through the parking lot. Arrive by 9:10 AM.
Arrivals after 9:20 AM, park and walk students to sign in.

Thank you for your cooperation in following these procedures and keeping everyone

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, our May newsletter focuses on supporting students through stress and anxiety. You’ll find simple classroom strategies, ideas for supporting children at home, and resources to help build regulation skills so students can feel calm, safe, and ready to learn. When we prioritize emotional well-being, we create stronger foundations for learning, growth, and success both in and out of the classroom.

Interested in getting more involved as a Neabsco Parent?

Our children spend A LOT of time at school. Volunteering at your child's school gives you the opportunity to share in school-related experiences. It gives you more in common. It also allows you to see your children in a different environment. It’s rewarding to watch them as they put all the skills you’ve taught them into action.

Please reach out to our school's Parent Liaison to be added to our Volunteers list!

Techstravaganza is a free, public, hands-on STEM activity fair for elementary and middle school students in Northern Virginia. In previous years, we've hosted more than 4,500 students and 70 labs presenting STEM activities. Our exhibitors range from TJHSST clubs and our own TWIST volunteers to organizations like NASA SCaN, Art of Problem Solving, George Mason University, American Society of Naval Engineers, and the National Air and Space Museum. This year, we will be holding the 22nd annual Techstravaganza on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 10 AM to 4 PM at TJHSST.

Admission is free! More information about the event can be found on our website at https://techstrav.org/index.html or tjpartnershipfund.org/techstravaganza/.
