Back-to-School Preparation
We are incredibly excited about seeing everyone for the new school year! Please take a moment to note these important dates and information.
Important Dates
Thursday, August 7 and/or Friday, August 22: New Families Sippin’ Social
We warmly welcome all families who are new to St. John’s—or new to the K–8 school—to join us for a relaxed, adults-only social evening. It’s a great opportunity to meet other parents, teachers, and church leadership. Keep an eye out for a personal invitation from Molly Hanson.
Monday, August 11: K–8 Open House
Our K–8 Open House, from 3:00–6:00 p.m., is a chance to drop in, meet your teacher, visit your classroom, and drop off supplies. Teachers will also share important information to help you start the year successfully. Look out for more details from your child’s teacher as the date approaches.
Wednesday, August 13: First Day of School for K–8 Students
It’s go time for our K–8 students—we can’t wait to see you!
Sunday, August 17: St. John’s Church Summer Picnic
We warmly invite all families to join us for our Summer Picnic from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., featuring a giant slip ’n’ slide, water guns, football, tug-of-war, volleyball, and other backyard games.
New families are especially encouraged to attend our 9:45 a.m. church service beforehand so we can welcome you on behalf of the St. John’s Church community.
Wednesday, August 27: Annual Parents’ Night
Our Annual Parents’ Night is the one time each year when all parents come together to hear about the vision for our school and the year ahead. We'll introduce our annual theme, share program updates shaped by parent feedback, and provide helpful information to support your child’s success this year.
We’ll also introduce Love and Logic, the foundation of our updated behavior approach, and take time to explore our Graduate Promise—a guiding vision you’ll hear a lot about in the years ahead at St. John’s.
Please plan to join us from 6:00–7:00 p.m.—your presence makes a difference.
2025-26 St. John's K-8 Dress Code
Please see the updated K–8 Dress Code here. There is a small but important modification that all parents should be aware of as you begin planning for next year’s school clothing.
Remember, young bodies grow fast—please take a moment to check that your child’s clothing still fits the guidelines before the school year begins.
Our gym refurbishment is on time and budget
We’re pleased to share that our gym refurbishment is progressing right on time and within budget, ready to welcome students back next school year. While the space is definitely still dusty from ongoing work, it’s already looking brighter, cleaner, and much more open and clutter-free.
Thank you again to everyone who contributed so generously—both financially and in other ways—to make this project possible. We can’t wait to unveil the upgraded space to our school community in August.
