Dear Calhoun Early Childhood School Families,

It has truly made my heart happy reading the appreciation notes you’ve been submitting each week. πŸ’™ I shared this one with our Calhoun staff today as a reminder that the small things we do to look out for one another often make the biggest difference. Thank you for being such an important part of our Calhoun community!

"Dear Calhoun Team,

I’m the one who got heroically rescued from my car troubles in front of the school yesterday. While it definitely wasn’t my finest or most enjoyable moment, Ms. Sara and her amazing team somehow turned it into one I’ll never forget.

Thank you so much for jumping in to help, for staying by my side, and even calling the police officers to the rescue. Our family is new to Texas and still finding our way (and clearly, our car is too!). That’s why your kindness meant the world to me.

It’s incredibly heartwarming to know I’m surrounded by people who not only dedicate themselves to educating our kids but also aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, pop a hood, and support a stranger in a sticky situation.

From the bottom of my heart β€” thank you for your care, your kindness, and your big Texas hearts. I feel so lucky to be part of this wonderful community."

We are the lucky ones! Have a wonderful weekend. :)

Warmly,

Principal Anderson

βœ… Reminders βœ… Reminders

πŸ•’ Please remember that while our school time starts at 7:30am, we are outside and greeting kids starting at 7:00am. We have had very few cars arriving between 7:00am-7:20am. If you wait until the last minute to bring your child in the carpool line, you run the risk of arriving tardy. Please make sure to plan ahead and utilize the line before 7:15am. You will get in and out with no wait!

⏰ For safety and efficiency, students will not be released after 2:00pm. Please plan ahead for appointments or other time commitments to ensure your child is picked up before this time.

πŸš— Please remember that we run two car lines at the same time:

From the North: Turn left into the left lane of the parking lot. This lane is for Piney Woods, Gulf Coast, and South Plains.

From the South: Turn right into the parking lot and use the right lane, which wraps around to the back of the building. This lane is for Big Bend, Hill Country, and Panhandle.

πŸ“΅Please enter the parking lot with caution and avoid using your phone while driving. As you turn in, use your blinker to signal. This helps us clearly distinguish Calhoun families from neighborhood traffic and ensures a smoother, safer arrival for everyone.

BEST PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN TEXAS

Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 67-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.

ABOUT PROSPER ISD

Prosper ISD is a school district located north of Dallas in Collin and Denton Counties. The district spans approximately 58 square miles and serves more than 32,000 students in 20 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 4 high schools, and one early childhood school.

🫢 THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING OUR TEACHERS & STUDENTS

In November 2023, an overwhelming majority of voters approved $2.7 billion to continue building excellence in Prosper ISD. Thank you for your continued financial commitment to our district.

And while our facilities are second to none, we know that it is the people who make the difference in Prosper ISD. From our bus drivers to our teachers to our teacher assistants, our staff is here to support students as they pursue their dreams of excellence in academics, fine arts, and athletics.
