KEY NEWS FOR EXPLORER FAMILIES

It is time to kick off Northwood’s 30th year! Warm welcome back wishes to both returning students and those who are joining our school community for the first time.

We will have much to celebrate this year and I can’t wait to see our Explorers back in the building soon. The amazing Northwood staff has been busy preparing their learning spaces and creating engaging lessons and activities to kick off the school year.

Tomorrow, Thursday, July 31st, is our Sneak Peek (schedule above). Families will be able to meet your child/children’s teacher that morning. In the cafeteria, there will be opportunities to learn more about after school clubs, the Northwood PTA, the Northwood Foundation, and purchase a school agenda ($5 cash) and carpool tags ($1 each cash).

Northwood will remain committed to strong student attendance daily. We’ll consistently review our attendance data and encourage timely and daily attendance. As you plan for back to school, starting the ‘getting up early’ routine will be helpful. Remember that students need to be in the building by 7:40 am daily.

Families don’t forget to register for or update your Infinite Campus account with emergency contact information. You can also select device insurance. Information about this as well as a wealth of other information can be found at the Fulton County Back to School Information link below.

Also linked below is the carpool and bus information specific to Northwood. Reviewing the process for carpool drop off and pick up will help the process go smoothly at the start of the year. It’s also important for all families to review the Fulton County policy changes regarding student technology – for elementary students, cell phones, smart watches, etc. are not allowed to be accessed during the school day.

Families of second graders, please remember to follow the steps to update proof of residency. More information is found on our website. Mrs. Dulion, our registrar, will also be in the hallway near the second grade classrooms during Sneak Peek to offer guidance and answer residency questions.

Northwood’s 30th school year is sure to be a great one! I hope that you and your families enjoy the last official summer weekend! Together we shine!
