Principal's Corner
Dear FamiLEE,
We have had a busy and active week at Lee High School, and I would like to thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to maintain a safe, orderly, and high-quality learning environment for all students. It is always a pleasure to see our many talented students gracing the stage, courts, fields, and hallways each day, showcasing their gifts in academics, the arts, athletics, and leadership. We will continue building on this success.
As a reminder, it is essential that students follow all building procedures and adhere to our NO CELL PHONE POLICY during the school day. We also maintain zero tolerance for fighting or physical conflict, as student safety remains a top priority.
Our primary focus remains quality instruction every day. When classrooms are free from disruption, teaching and learning can take place at the highest level. Strong, engaging instruction is key to improving academic achievement and ensuring students are performing on grade level. We appreciate your support in reinforcing consistent expectations and messaging for our students.
Please note the following upcoming events:
-
Honor Societies Induction Ceremony will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026. For questions, please contact Mrs. Evans. Inductees should be informed in advance, dressed appropriately, and prepared as we celebrate their academic achievements.
-
Lee Legacy 40th Magnet Anniversary Celebration will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 5:00–7:30 p.m. We would love for you to attend if you are able.
Thank you for your continued support as we uphold high expectations and work together to ensure the continued success of every Lee High School student.
Warm regards,
Kitrise Torain

Announcements
New HCS Wireless Communication Device Policy: We want to inform you about an important update to our school policies in response to a new state law. On May 14, 2025, Governor Kay Ivey signed the FOCUS Act (Freeing Our Classrooms of Unnecessary Screens for Safety) into law. This law, which went into effect July 1, 2025, requires public schools across Alabama to limit student use of wireless communication devices during the instructional day to improve focus, safety, and engagement. In compliance with this law, Huntsville City Schools will implement a district-wide Wireless Communication Device (WCD) Policy beginning Fall 2025. Please click here to review the new HCS Wireless Communication Device policy.
Attendance
We want your child to be in school with us every day! Attendance is the most important factor in your child's academic success. We can't teach children who aren't at school. We have a goal of 95% this year. Please help us reach this goal by ensuring your child is here every day. If you child has to be out, please send excuses to LHS.attendance@hsv-k12.org.
