The Child Development Center
Jax State | November 2025
Happy Thanksgiving!
There is nothing we are MORE thankful for than our Child Development Center families!
As we enter this month of thanksgiving, we focus on the things we are truly thankful for...
- our little learners
- their supporting families
- our wonderful teachers and staff
- and the support of the Jax State College of Education
What's Happening This Month...

Our CCAMPIS Classrooms are officially OPEN!
We are so excited to share that our CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) program officially launched Monday, October 13th!
This new program is designed to support student parents by providing access to quality childcare at no cost to you. Our goal is to help you stay focused on your academic goals while knowing your child is in a safe and nurturing environment.
Meet Our Student Staff
Several of our CCAMPIS Student Leads/Workers will be familiar faces to the CDC...
We will also be welcoming some new faces...
Welcome Mrs. Anna Rebekah Smith!
The CDC Admin Team would like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Anna Rebekah Smith, the new Co-Coordinator for the CCAMPIS Grant Program.
Mrs. Smith comes to us after several years of coordinating programs with both young and older children, as well as with a background in outreach. She will be working directly with our CCAMPIS families and coordinating programing on their behalf. We are excited to have her as part of the team!
📝 School Year Update
President Killingsworth has graciously given the Jax State staff early dismissal for Christmas Break. We are very thankful for this extra time to spend with our families, but it will also alter our 2025-2026 calendar.
The CDC will dismiss for Christmas break on December 12th and will return January 5th. State has approved that February 16th and April 3rd will be half days for all Pre-K students. Pre-K will dismiss at 11:30 on those days. (These were closed days prior to the holiday announcement) The other half of the day will be Professional Development for the teachers.
Our NEW Student Library!
Our new CDC Student Library opens on November 3rd! Students will be allowed to "visit" the library in POD 2 and select their very own book. To ensure fairness and responsibility, the following guidelines will be in place:
- Only one book may be checked out at a time.
- Books must be returned before another book can be checked out.
- A $10 fee will be added to your student's ProCare account if a book is lost or damaged.
All students will need a permission form on file to participate!
Storybook Character Parade!
To celebrate our new library, the CDC will be hosting a Storybook Character Parade on November 3rd. Start planning today who you can dress up as!
