Ingraham News
Homecoming week was a huge success! Big shoutout to Mr. Wentzel and ASB for making it such a fun week. We had over 700 students came to the dance, our biggest turnout ever! Wentzel and crew crushed it with the planning and energy. Thanks to everyone who helped make the week such a memorable one for our students.
The fun doesn't stop. This week we have PSAT/SAT testing on Oct. 23rd. The SAT and PSAT are now completely digital for all students. Students must test on their district provided device (if they don’t have one, students need to get one). Device preparation will take place in school Oct. 20–22. Students can find information on how to prep their device and access a test preview and/or test practice on their grade level Schoology Page or by following this link:
SAT and PSAT Laptop Prep and Test Day Info. (for students)
Running Start students: if you plan to test at Ingraham, it is your responsibility to plan in advance to make that happen. If you have morning college classes, talk with your professors about missing class. Get a district laptop as soon as you can, and make sure that Bluebook is available on the device. Global Learning Opportunities for Students
As an IB World School, we encourage students to consider studying abroad during high school as a way to develop cross-cultural communication skills, build independence, and gain global perspectives. Immersing themselves in another culture helps students grow as independent thinkers and compassionate global citizens, strengthening both their academic and personal journeys.
Learn more about study abroad opportunities available to our students. Most programs take place during the summer. Families are also invited to a CIEE Study Abroad Information Night in the Ingraham Library on Tuesday, October 28 at 7 p.m.
Ingraham AP registration and fees due date: October 31st (before 5 pm) !
As you have hopefully heard from your student’s AP teacher, the deadline to register and pay exam fees is rapidly approaching. Students who want to take their AP class’s exam need to register for it online using a course “join code” from their teacher. The exam fee of $125.00 also needs to be paid to Ingraham. Fees can be paid by cash or check at Ingraham’s Fiscal Office or via SchoolPay. Please be aware that exam fees paid via SchoolPay have a service fee added. Both registration and exam fee payment must be completed before the deadline of October 31st.
Does your student qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch? If so, please contact Jennifer Luthe at jlluthe@seattleschools.org or in person in room 162 BEFORE paying the exam fee. Students on our FRL list have a significantly lower fee.
Ingraham only has 4 AP exams available due to our extensive IB offerings: AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science A, and AP Statistics. Before paying and registering for an AP exam, please check for conflicts with IB testing. If your student is hoping to take an AP exam other than those provided at Ingraham, you will need to complete a district-level form to demonstrate interest and determine availability. Please keep an eye on your e-mail or go to the District’s Assessment website.
