Wildcat Weekly- 5/4-5/8

We have had a wonderful week of showcasing our school! Our superintendent was impressed with our student's art and creativity. Our ACER visit was successful as wildcats showed off their wildcat PRIDE and led us on to silver state recognition for positive behavior, and we have been recognized for another year as a Common Sense Media school!

We hope our volunteers felt appreciated and enjoyed our Volunteer brunch that included our student performances and today's Friday Flag proved to be an awesome highlight of accomplishment and good work. In the week ahead, we are excited to celebrate the amazing staff at Pomerado. Please remind your child to demonstrate gratitude to a staff member next week as a way to help us all appreciate our staff!

As we welcome the final 23 days of the school year, we thank you for sharing your children with us and we look forward to the wonderful activities and memories we are about to make in the month of May!

As we prepare for upcoming field trips, we want to ensure a safe and organized experience for all students. Please review the following important chaperone requirements:

• All field trip chaperones must be cleared volunteers prior to the trip. To complete the process, please visit: Pomerado Website/Volunteer Information
• All chaperones are required to sign in at the school office BEFORE the trip begins, regardless of whether you are riding the bus or meeting us at the location.
• There are no exceptions to this requirement.

These procedures are in place to help us maintain student safety and follow required guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation and support in making our field trips successful and enjoyable for everyone. If you have any questions, please contact the school office 858-748-1320.

Wednesday we’re celebrating Ms. Diana, our amazing Pomerado Wildcat Health Tech aka school nurse! 🐾 From bumps and bandages to caring check-ins, she keeps our Wildcats safe, healthy, and feeling cared for every day.

The Fall 2026 ESS Interest Application is now open and will remain open through June 7. All interested families may apply at any time during this initial application window. There is no advantage or disadvantage to applying earlier or later within this period, as all applications will be processed simultaneously.

Parents are encouraged to wait until their child’s enrollment has been completed by the school site and they have received access to their ParentVUE account before attempting to use the ESS Application Management System.

Families who apply during the initial application window will be notified on Monday, June 15th whether their student has been offered placement in the ESS program for the 2026–27 school year or has been placed on the waitlist.

Now enrolling for the 2026–27 school year! PUSD offers two preschool program options: a family-funded program, and a state-funded program that is free or low-cost for eligible families. Both programs include full-day and part-day options.

Can you believe we are already approaching the end of the school year? It has been an incredible journey, and we want to celebrate everything we’ve accomplished together for our students and staff.
