Eagle Update

What an incredible Fun Run we had last week! The weather was amazing and the event was a huge success for all. Thank you so much for the part you contributed from encouraging runners, to donations, to volunteering for the event or just making sure students had their running shoes on😄 Also, a huge thanks to our PAC, PE team, and the many volunteers for their organization and planning to make the run truly fun for our students!

This week, we had our first Character Trait Assembly! We acknowledged our September Character Trait award winners and introduced our trait of the month: kindness. Our Eagle Ambassadors did an incredible job modeling how to show kindness to others.

This afternoon, you should receive an email via ParentSquare from your student's teacher inviting you to sign up for our fall conferences on October 22nd and 23rd. These days will be no school days for our students. Please take the time to sign up for a time that works for your schedule. Some families take the long weekend for vacations, but please be aware that teachers are not expected to schedule formal conferences make-ups outside of these days. Thank you for understanding.

Remember that we do not have school tomorrow as it is a Statewide Inservice Day. Enjoy the long weekend!

It's a great time to set up an eWallet for your child. An eWallet is a cashless way for your child to shop at the fair that also allows family and friends to contribute.

Please note that a new eWallet needs to be created for each Book Fair.

All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering each school year. Please click here to complete the form.

National School Lunch Week celebrates the importance of a nutritious school lunch in fueling students for success. In the 2025-2026 School Year alone, the SSD Nutrition Team served over 246,000 lunches to our students. That is a lot of meals!

The Nutrition Team is celebrating by hosting a raffle contest. Next week, each student participating in School Lunch will receive a raffle entry (limit one entry per day). On Friday, we will draw the winner of this year’s prize, a $25 Fandango Gift Card (courtesy of our industry partners).

Come join us on Wednesday mornings starting in October for a free play time for early learners! Make a friend, play with others, and have a snack!

Open Play is held at the Sherwood School District Office (21920 SW Sherwood Blvd) in the Small Gym and free to families with children 0 to 5 years old. Our entrance is located in the small parking lot, up the stairs. Signs will be posted! Come play with us!
