Welcome to the 2025-2026
We are excited to welcome you all to another exciting school year. Our faculty and staff are here to ensure student learning takes place.
Jose Lopez, M. Ed
My name is Jose Lopez, and I am honored and excited to serve as the new principal of Alice Johnson Junior High.
It is a privilege to join this incredible school community, and I am truly enthusiastic about beginning my tenure at AJJH. I am deeply passionate about education and committed to working diligently to ensure that every student has access to the very best educational opportunities.
Throughout my 20-year career in education, I have had the opportunity to serve students in
various capacities, including as a teacher, math specialist, assistant principal, and now principal.
My academic background includes a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of
Texas Pan American, a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Lamar University
and I am currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar
University.
I firmly believe that great schools are built on the foundation of great teachers. At Alice Johnson
Junior High, my primary goal is to support our educators in delivering high-quality, engaging
instruction that meets the needs of every learner. I envision AJJH as a place where all students
are empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe and supportive
environment.
Working together with our dedicated staff, parents, and community members, I am committed to
continuing the tradition of excellence at Alice Johnson Junior High and helping each student
reach their fullest potential.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the AJJH community. I look forward to getting to know
you and your children as we embark on an exciting new school year. Please feel free to reach out
to me at 281-452-8030 with any questions, ideas, or concerns.
Sincerely,

- September is National Suicide Prevention month. Every year, mental health organizations and individuals raise awareness of suicide prevention. #BeThe1To is the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline’s message for National Suicide Prevention Month. It helps spread the word about actions we can all take to prevent suicide.
