KMS NEWSLETTER

Dear KMS Families,
We have some exciting events happening this week at Kodiak Middle School!
First, our Student Government is hosting a "Share the Love" Valentine's Day-themed food drive. Bring in non-perishable or canned food items this week to help KMS families and share the love! ❤️ Food boxes will first go to those in our school community, with any extra donations going to the Salvation Army Food Bank. This grade-level competition will earn points toward an end-of-year class party sponsored by Student Government!
Current standings are as follows:
6th Grade – 26 items
7th Grade – 46 items
8th Grade – 0 items (Let’s get those numbers up, 8th grade!)
Also, February 10-14 is KMS Spirit Week! Celebrate with us by dressing up each day and showing your Grizzly pride! Check out the flyer below for the daily themes.
Last but not least, don't forget that Tuesday is the last day to purchase a candy gram at lunch time, and Wednesday is the last day to purchase one online. All candy grams will be distributed to students on Valentine's Day.
Let's make this a great week at KMS!

KPL CHOOSES KMS STUDENT GRACE DALY AS SHELFIE STAR
From Kodiak Public Library:
We’d like to invite you to meet our latest Shelfie Star, Grace! One of the things Grace enjoys about the library is that it provides a quiet, peaceful space to read. On her shelf, you’ll find a wide variety of books, but she hopes you'll especially check out the manga and her anime models. Come learn about this aspiring psychiatrist and maybe discover a new book to escape into on this chilly day!
Great job, Grace! KMS is proud to have you as part of our student body!
FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE: I LOVE THE 90'S
Get ready to jump, jump to the raddest decade ever—join us on March 7 for a totally fly throwback to the 90’s!
We’re talkin’ hacky sacks, grunge bingo, phat 90's jams WITH DJ MARC of Island Style Entertainment , and more!
So dust off your fave flannel, lace up those Docs, and cruise over to the KMS PTSA I Love the 90’s House Party from 6-8pm!
No cover, dudes!
But we’ll have snacks and drinks up for grabs, with all proceeds goin’ to support the STEAM/Agriculture programs.
Parents, don’t ghost us!
Keep your eyes peeled for our sign-up sheet if you wanna get in on the action.
Catch ya there! ✌️
