Appointment with Me

May 1, 2026 May 1, 2026

GoodBye April and Hello May...

“Cheers to a new month and another chance for us to get it right.”

— Oprah Winfrey

This is our last month of the school year to SHINE!!! Wrapping up projects, assignments, and getting late work turned in; it's our last push to get our grades up! So let's take time to this chance for us to get it right and get it completed! Please talk to your teachers if you are needing help with work or need to ask how to get your grade up. Teachers are there to help. If you need assistance talking to them because you feel nervous or anxious about it, tell me and I will go with you.

We've all registered for our classes next year, but it doesn't mean it's set in stone. Things can still change and don't worry you have the first ten days to make any changes you may want/need.

Still 15 graduates are left for FAFSA. This needs to be submitted for graduating students as soon as possible or you can fill out an opt out form which are in the office. There are Cash 4 College nights held virtually and in person all over the county if you need assistance. This is the only way you will get any type of financial aid in college and this is the only way you will get to go to the JC for free. Please fill it out as soon as possible, so you can find out how much money you will earn and if you get the Cal Grant or other scholarships.

There is a Google Classroom with resources and announcements...ask your students if they have joined yet.

My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.

I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.

See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.

CONSIDER WHAT YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER With all the changes, it can feel like things are out of control. Routines and schedules help build a sense of control and keep you healthy. Mapping out your day, like when to sleep and wake up, exercise, and have time for fun can really help improve your mood. It may be a pain to get started, but creating healthy habits (even small ones), help if you’re struggling with mental health challenges!
