Dear Henryville Junior/Senior High School Community,

I hope everyone had a wonderful fall break. We have now entered our second quarter. I want to update you on the things that are happening at Henryville Jr/Sr High School.

The Golden Band earned an impressive 6th place finish at the ISSMA Marching Band Scholastic Class Finals, showcasing their hard work, dedication, and talent. This achievement is a testament to the countless hours of practice and teamwork put in by the students and staff.

Lydia Ramsey (1st), Hadley Tolliver (4th), Grace Stowell (56th), Josiah Spicer (9th), and Jax Yaeger (11th) all gave impressive performances at Sectional. Let's wish them luck at Super Regional in Shelbyville next week.

I hope everyone is now familiar with the new grading policy, which is designed to ensure students truly understand the material presented to them each day. After completing a unit or chapter, students take an assessment to measure their mastery of the standards. Students who score below 70% are asked to retake the assessment. To prepare for this, students must complete a checklist, and teachers will provide an additional class period to support those who need extra help. Even students who score above 70% can retake the assessment to improve their understanding further. I’m incredibly proud of our dedicated teachers, who tirelessly guide our students toward mastering the standards.
