A PEEK AT THIS WEEK
October 1st - Walk to School Wednesday
October 1st - PFA Meeting
Our October PFA meeting is on Wednesday, October 1st at 8:30 am. We will be meeting in our newly remodeled Makerspace (room 24).
October 2nd - Holiday
Dear Westlake Elementary Families,
The incredible programs that make our school such a magical place for students—Makerspace, art, assemblies, field trips, and even the additional Campus Safety Assistants who help keep our children safe—are not funded by the district. They exist only because of the generous support of our families through the PFA’s Direct Donation campaign.
Right now, our PFA is trying to ensure that we meet the budget. If we fall short, we will not have the funds to continue providing these opportunities for our students. These programs are not extras—they are what make Westlake Elementary a place where curiosity, creativity, and safety flourish side by side.
Every dollar truly makes a difference, and together, we can ensure that our students continue to have the experiences that inspire, protect, and shape them into WISE Wizards.
With Wizard Pride,
Mrs. Terri Culpepper
Principal, Westlake Elementary
Meet Our Specialists
Megan Lockridge, Art
Tina Nguyen, Makerspace
Ally Stewart, PE Academic Specialist
Ann Keenan, Librarian
Carmen Watson, TK/K Music
Thanks to your generosity, our students are able to enjoy incredible opportunities that enrich their learning journey—we couldn’t do it without you!

You will need to have a current TB test. Paperwork must be turned in 48 hours prior to volunteering. Whether it is a once a year field trip or once a week centers, everyone must complete the packet. Where to start?
Attendance Matters
Please remember that all absences must be phoned in to our attendance line, via a recorded message at: 805-494-0324
Be sure to state the date and reason for your child’s absence or late arrival, and your child’s teacher or room number. Any unexcused absence is counted as truancy. Students are allowed only three truancies per year before action is taken. Planning ahead with your child will also help to avoid unnecessary tardiness.
Students who arrive on time feel better about school and perform better in the classroom.
Lunch Program
Although all students will receive meals at no charge again this school year it is very important for parents or guardians, to complete and submit an application for free or reduced meals as soon as possible.
Visit https://conejo.vcoe.org/fsonline/Main/Login to complete the application online . For first-time applicants, it's recommended to use a desktop computer to set up your profile. If your student is found eligible to receive meal benefits it might also qualify your family for discounts on gas, electricity, cell phone or cable service, and a waiver to take the SAT and ACT tests.
PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE SCHOOL SITE AND DISTRICT OFFICE.
