Institutional Scholarships

Institutional Scholarships are scholarships that are awarded from the college or university that a student is attending.

  • Money is only awarded if you attend that school.
  • May be given based on merit or need.
  • Many institutional scholarships are renewable (meaning you can get them every year you attend that school).
  • Some schools require a separate application for institutional scholarships.
  • Essential to understand the process and deadlines for scholarships.

BHS Local Scholarship Program

The Local Scholarship Program at Boonville High School is a remarkable opportunity made possible by the generosity of local organizations, businesses, alumni and families in the Boonville community. This program includes approximately 40 scholarships that are primarily offered to BHS students, though some may include Cooper County schools.

All scholarships use a common application. Some may require additional information such as an essay or letters of recommendation.

Look for more information in the Counseling Office in December. Scholarship information will be provided to students through their ELA classes in December. Applications are due in February. Awards will be announced in May.

Additional Scholarships

There are numerous scholarship websites. You could spend hours every day looking. Beware of scams and never pay for a scholarship opportunity. Finding scholarships with very specific criteria that you meet will make your odds better than vague scholarship opportunities.

BHS Counselors occasionally receive scholarship information that does not fit into the local scholarship program. These scholarship opportunities will be announced through our scholarship document to be published later.
