Step Into the Role: Be a Principal for a Day
Ever wondered what it’s really like to lead a school building? Now’s your chance. Ingham ISD is excited to invite business, civic and community leaders to participate in Principal for a Day, a unique opportunity to shadow a local school leader and gain firsthand insight into the daily realities of public education.
Why Participate?
- See the strengths and challenges schools face each day
- Build stronger partnerships between schools and the community
- Gain perspective on how education policy plays out in real classrooms
- Experience the authentic, unscripted life of a school principal
What to Expect
Participants can choose a full-day or half-day experience at a local school between October 1, 2025, and March 27, 2026. You’ll be matched with a principal based on your interests and availability. Prior to the visit, participants and principals will connect for a short virtual meeting to set expectations.
