A Message from the Principal
Hello Central Middle School Families,
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Jeff Simon and I am the proud principal of Central Middle School. While I recognize that many of you are currently enjoying a summer vacation filled with fun, friends, and family, I also know that some of you are already getting excited for the upcoming school year and want to make sure your ducks are in a row in preparation. Though a more formal and complete introduction will be coming in the next few weeks, I wanted to communicate some important information that will ensure a smooth start to the 2026-2027 school year.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at jsimon@fhps.net.

Starting within the first couple of days of school, CMS athletics officially begin. We start our seasons off with girls' volleyball and coed cross country. If your student is interested in participating, a physical must be completed on or after April 15, 2026. Your student will not be able to participate without this documentation. Please plan accordingly.
All registrations, fees, and forms are submitted through Final Forms.
Student/Family Insurance
Forest Hills Public Schools is providing student medical insurance coverage for any student injured at school or during a school related activity including athletics.

2026-2027 Student Schedules
Schedules are finalized over the summer and will be completed by our student orientation on August 24. Schedules that are viewable on PowerSchool before that date are not finalized, and are subject to change.
School Day Schedules
Enrollment Open for 2026-2027 School Year
Annual Enrollment Verification for the 2026-27 School Year
All families with returning FHPS students must log in to PowerSchool to verify student information for the 2026-27 school year. This is a required step that helps us plan classes, scheduling, and transportation. For ease of use, we strongly recommend completing this verification process in a web browser on a desktop/laptop rather than in the mobile app. If you need assistance logging in to PowerSchool, please email parentportal@fhps.net. Our school registrar and secretaries can also assist families if you have additional enrollment questions.
2026-2027 Medication Consent Forms
Please read this letter from our District Nurses regarding a NEW Medication Consent Form for the 2026-2027 school year. Be sure to work with your physician over the next few weeks to ensure that your student, if needed, can be supported with medications starting on the first day of school!
Please reach out if you have any questions.
OK2Say - A Resource to Keep our Community Safe
You can still use OK2Say over the summer!!
OK2SAY is the student safety program that allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
