Letter from Mrs. Tapia
Dear Wildcat Families,
We are off to a fantastic start to the school year, and I’m grateful for the energy, excitement, and teamwork that has already been so evident on campus. Below are some important updates and upcoming opportunities for you to stay connected and involved at Altamont Creek.
Thank You for a Wonderful Back to School Night!
It was wonderful to see so many families at Back to School Night. Your partnership and enthusiasm help set the tone for a successful year of learning and growth for our Wildcats.
Principal Coffee – Wednesday, August 26
Please join me for our first Principal Coffee immediately following the Spirit Assembly on Wednesday, August 26. This is a casual time to connect, ask questions, and share ideas. (See flyer below for details.)
Unkind or Bullying? A Conversation We’re Having at ACE
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be visiting each classroom to talk with our Wildcats about the difference between unkind behavior and bullying. We’ll discuss what bullying can look like, including repeated actions, purposeful behavior, and a power imbalance, as well as how even a one-time unkind interaction can hurt someone’s feelings.
I’d love for families to continue this conversation at home! Take a few minutes to look at the graphic below with your child and talk about the difference between being unkind and bullying. Most importantly, remind your child that we can always choose kindness, speak up when something doesn’t feel right, and ask a trusted adult for help.
Attendance Matters
If your child will be absent, please call the Attendance Line at 925-454-5575, then press 2. While we understand that illness and emergencies happen, every day of school matters for your child’s learning and success. Thank you for helping us build strong attendance habits!
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Safety
For the safety of all students, please follow all drop-off and pick-up expectations. Stay patient, remain in your car, and follow staff directions. Working together helps keep everyone safe.

School Site Council
A Call for Altamont Creek School Site Council Members
Be Part of Our Team!
Altamont Creek Elementary School seeks ONE new parent member to serve on its School Site Council for the 2026-2027 academic year. The School Site Council meets four times a year and meetings are open to the public. Members serve a 2-year term.
According to GreatSchools.org “The school site council (SSC) is a group of teachers, parents, classified employees and students (at the high school level) that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. The members of the site council are generally elected by their peers. For example, parents elect the parent representatives and teachers elect teachers.”
“Successful school site councils, regardless of their specific agendas, are more than a “rubber stamp” committee, and always ask thoughtful and challenging questions.
School Site Council members don’t just represent their own interests. They have an obligation to make decisions that will best serve the whole school community.”
If you are interested, or would like to nominate someone, please fill out the bottom portion of this form and return it to the office no later than Friday, September 4.
Elections will be held electronically shortly after the application deadline.
