Trunk or Treat (Wed. Oct 29th)
Mark your calendars for one of our favorite fall events — Trunk or Treat at John Wesley! This fun-filled evening is our way of thanking the community for all the incredible support you’ve shown for our Pumpkin Patch this season.
From 6–7 PM, families are invited to come in costume and enjoy trick-or-treating from trunk to trunk in the church parking lot. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the season together with candy, costumes, and community spirit!
We’re inviting youth families to help make the night a success by decorating their car trunks and handing out candy. If you’re able to participate, please plan to arrive by 5:45 PM to set up your decorated trunk before the fun begins.
In addition to the trunk or treat fun, we’ll also be serving hotdogs, chips, and drinks — and we could use a few extra hands to help cook and serve food throughout the event.
This is a wonderful chance to give back to our neighbors and share the joy of the season together. We hope you’ll join us — whether by decorating a trunk, helping with food, or just coming out to enjoy the evening!

Middle Schoolers Need for Acolytes
Serving as an acolyte is a wonderful way for middle school students to grow in their faith while playing an important role in the life of the church. By carrying the light of Christ into worship and assisting in the service, acolytes learn responsibility, develop leadership skills, and gain a deeper understanding of how worship connects us to God and to one another. This hands-on opportunity helps students see that they are not just the “future” of the church, but an active part of its ministry right now. Whether at the 8:30 or 11:00 service, acolyting allows them to contribute in a meaningful way, while also strengthening their confidence and sense of belonging in the church family. We encourage you to click the link below to sign up your child to serve as an acolyte and take part in this meaningful ministry.
Youth Sunday - Nov 23rd
Parents, we need your help encouraging your 6th–12th grade youth to participate in Youth Sunday on November 23rd during both the 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM worship services. This is one of the most meaningful Sundays of the year at John Wesley — a time when our youth lead the entire worship service, from prayers and music to scripture readings and the message.
Youth Sunday is designed to let our young people show the congregation what their faith looks like in action. It’s also a powerful reminder to the church family of how their support for youth ministry is making a difference in the lives of the next generation.
We want as many youth as possible to participate in both services so that together we can make a strong statement about the life and energy of our ministry. Between the services, we’ll gather for a Youth Family Potluck Breakfast, giving parents, youth, and leaders a chance to connect and celebrate together.
We know some of our families worship at other churches, but we’re asking that—for this one Sunday—we come together to show John Wesley how big and vibrant our youth ministry really is. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be asking youth to take on specific parts of the service, and we’ll need everyone who can sing to join our Youth Choir for that morning.
Your encouragement and support are key. Please talk with your youth about being part of this special day—it’s a beautiful opportunity for them to lead, to grow, and to share their faith with the church that loves them.
