First off I would like to thank all parents that came out during our Parent Teacher Conferences to talk with your child's teacher. We had a great turn out during these conferences. Please continue to remain in contact with your child's teacher as we enter into the last stretches of the school year to ensure that your child finishes the school year strong. Parents with children that will be entering Kindergarten next school year, please make sure if you have not done so already that you register your child for Kindergarten. Our next Kindergarten Registration sessions will be held on March 23, 2021 8:30 - 11:00, 3:00-6:00 please make sure that you attend one of these session to register your child for Kindergarten. Also parents please be reminded that on March 22, WPS will host our Spring Parent Curriculum night for 1st & 2nd Grade (6:00 - 7:30pm) & March 23 Kindergarten 6:30 - 7:30. We look forward to seeing all of our parents during this great event. Parents please be remind that all students who arrive to school after 8:05 must be signed in the by a parent. Lastly, we are in need of volunteers for the 2022-2023 PTA as our current officers transition out. Below you will find a link to the sign-up form please complete and submit the form. We would love to have all of our parents active members of our WPS PTA, because "We do it better when we do it together". Again thank you for all that you do for WPS.

Kindergarten:

• Kindergarten Registration Wednesday, March 23rd as well as Family Curriculum night. 6:30-7:30.
• If you did not have an opportunity to attend parent conferences please reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule one.
• Continue to work on sight words and blending c-v-c words.

First Grade:

• Parent Night is Tuesday, March 22. Come and learn some tips to help your child finish the school year strong!
• Monday is World Down Syndrome Day so wear silly socks to show your support.
• Many students are forgetting to bring water bottles each day. Please make this a priority.

Second Grade:

• Spring Curriculum Night is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 2022. You may choose to attend Session 1 from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm or Session 2 from 6:45 to 7:30 pm. We encourage parents to attend because we will be sharing strategies that you can use at home to help students in reading and math.
• Please continue to send water bottles to school each day. Make sure students have all materials needed for class.
• Continue to read AR books and complete the AR log. It is important that students read at least 20 minutes each night.
• If you haven’t met with your child’s teacher to discuss report cards and academic progress please contact them and schedule a meeting.

Second Grade: An informative newsletter will be sent home in your child’s bookbag about TIGER TROUPE, our WPS performing ensemble. Please read and respond if you would like to participate this fall. Thanks! Mrs. Wanda Hardison

Please remember that students who are sick and have a fever are not to return to school until they are 24 hours fever free without the aid of medication. Also, if they are vomiting, or have diarrhea they are to be 24 hour symptom free. These are still “symptoms” on our COVID list and will need either a doctor’s note or a negative COVID test.in addition . I would also like you all to know that we have had zero “0” cases of COVID at WPS in over a month! Thank you all for your efforts in battling the germs at WPS!
