It's that time of year again ! With the temperatures constantly changing, we would like to remind all parents to ensure their students come to school in jackets, hats, gloves and scarfs when we do hit colder temperatures. Students will continue to go outside when it is 20 degrees or above with Windchill. Please contact the main office if you are in need of a jacket for your student(s).

Parents,

Please make sure your child is here every day on time.

Students arriving to school with time to spare have the luxury of settling in, greeting their teachers and classmates, selecting preferred classwork, and focusing their minds on the lessons to come.

Students arriving late miss out on this natural transition period, and chronic tardiness may cause students to struggle with academic focus and relationships with peers. Showing up on time to school every day can help students develop the habit of being punctual, shows them your commitment to their learning and friendships, and helps reduce classroom interruptions and distractions for all students. Missing just 15 minutes of school twice a week equates to 3 missed school days per year!

We ask all Walker families to make a renewed commitment to arriving on time. This helps your child's teacher and classmates AND your child.

PBIS Rewards PBIS Rewards

PBIS Rewards is a technology-based PBIS management system that helps us with our behavior incentive program. By downloading the PBIS Rewards app, parents will have an easy way to monitor how well their child is meeting expectations at school, and how they are recognized for making positive choices Teachers and staff give points to students who meet the behavior expectations. Students can then "purchase" rewards with the points they have accumulated over time! Flyers were sent home with instructions on how to download the app and included a unique QR code for each student. Please feel free to call the office if you have any questions or concerns.
