Volunteer Opportunities
Attention volunteers! We are looking for assistance with two major projects for October. The first is preparing items for our float this year. The theme is Circus. We are in need of a trailer and decorations for the trailer.
Our second project is decorating our school for Halloween! We would like to create a festive environment for our students. Please stop by the campus if you are able to support our projects.
Have a fantastic first week!

Prop A Corner
Families, staff, community invited to community meetings to learn about Prop A
Calling all Buffalo families, staff, and community members! Join Superintendent James Vasquez at community meetings to learn more about the upcoming Prop A - Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election on Nov. 3. This is an opportunity to stay informed and hear important information related to our schools and the future of our district. Click here for a schedule of the community meetings.
Property owners age 65 and older, disabled veterans and disabled homeowners
Socorro ISD property owners age 65 and older, disabled veterans and disabled homeowners who have filed the appropriate Homestead Exemption with the County Central Appraisal District will not be financially impacted by Proposition A. For these homeowners, school taxes are frozen and cannot exceed the established frozen amount. Learn more at https://www.sisd.net/propa
Socorro ISD students prepare for future with CTE programs
More than 90% of Socorro ISD high school students participate in Career and Technical Education programs. CTE provides students with hands-on learning designed to prepare them for jobs after graduation. Without a rate increase, some of these programs could be cut. Proposition A includes $1 million to maintain CTE programs. Learn more at https://www.sisd.net/propa
Safety Corner
Safety is one of our top priorities at the campus. Please help us keep the entire school community by following our recommended safety tips.
- Tierra Delta is prioritized for our teachers to ensure that they can make it to the campus on time to greet our students.
- Cars exiting the West Parking Lot do not have the right of way. Drivers must yield to oncoming traffic on Tierra Mirage before turning.
- Left turns into the West Parking Lot from Tierra Mirage are prohibited.
- Whistles from the Crossing Guards mean that cars are coming to a stop. Pedestrians should always wait for directions from the Cross Guards for enhanced safety.
- Please do not block crosswalks.
- Students should never be dropped off along Tierra Mirage due to increased and very mobile traffic.
- When dropping off within any parking lot, please pull as far forward as possible to maximize cars within the drop off zones.
- If utilizing an electric scooter or bike, please walk it through crosswalks.
- Always use a turn signal to help Cross Guards identify which direction you intend to go.
- Always use a crosswalk to cross streets. Jaywalking is not only dangerous, but citations can be issued for failing to cross at the appropriate location.
- Please come to a complete stop at all stop signs.
- Our school neighbors have asked that we refrain from blocking their driveways. As a reminder, it is against Texas Law.
