Each year, the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at UA Little Rock conducts summer programs in order to increase capacity in the STEM pipeline. Our programs are supported through collaborations with business or government partners and all of our programs are free to students. Each program focuses on specific STEM-based subject areas and attempts to provide students with a unique opportunity to be exposed to various STEM career options.
Engineering Scholars Program
- What: One-week residential summer program to increase the number of students entering engineering programs in Arkansas through exposure to hands-on engineering projects, plant trips, and interaction with industry engineers.
- Who: Current 8th-11th graders interested in engineering.
- When: June 16 – June 22, 2024
Windstream Girls CODE
- What: One-week day camp to motivate academically prepared females to enter the fields of computer science, information science, or web design; and learn more about opportunities available for females in computer science and information science.
- Who: Current 7th & 8th graders (male and female)
- When: July 22-26, 2024
On Friday night, the North Little Rock School District hosted the 2024 Night of Honors. This is our signature event to recognize our Building-Level Teachers of the Year and Classified Employees of the Year.
Mrs. Christon McClure, a teacher at the Sixth Grade Campus, was unveiled as the 2024 NLRSD Teacher of the Year. Be on the lookout for next week's "Top 5" for highlights on the Night of Honors.
