Westmoor Weekly 05/22/26

Dear Westmoor Families,

We had a wonderful time at our end-of-year school picnic! A heartfelt thank you to our PTO for organizing another fun-filled event for our students, staff, and families.

We’re in the home stretch of the school year, and the next two weeks are packed with exciting events! From the GBN Grade Walk to Field Day, and our Pack Picnic/Movie Day, there is so much to look forward to as we celebrate an incredible year together.

As we prepare to wrap up the school year, please see below for our school-wide End-of-Year Countdown beginning Tuesday, May 26. We’re excited to celebrate together and show our school spirit during these final days of school!

We have noticed an increase in students bringing toys/games from home. Unless specifically requested by a teacher, we ask that students leave toys at home. We have plenty of playground equipment, games, and activities available for students throughout the school day.

Each week students may submit a positive quote that captures and motivates their peers to persevere and feel good. We then showcase the quotes throughout the school building. Students may submit a quote, using this link.

Let’s end the school year with some fun and spirit! Starting Tuesday, May 26th, we will celebrate each day with a theme/activity and some BULLDOG pride!

On Tuesday, June 2nd, we will be having a Bulldog Pack & Popsicle event during the school day. We will be serving one of these flavors of Johnny Pops. If you have any questions or concerns about your student eating one of these, please contact both your homeroom teacher and Mrs. Woodward - awoodward@northbrook.net.

The lost and found is completely over flowing. We have placed on tables by the office if you would like to look through it before it is donated. We will be donating it on June 4th!

Congratulations to Ava L. in second grade! Her t-shirt design got 134 student votes! Way to go, Ava! We can’t wait to see your t-shirt design on the Bulldog Pack shirt for the 2026-2027 school year.

Thank you to all the wonderful Westmoor artists who submitted a t-shirt design. We are hoping to make this a tradition at Westmoor, so there will be more opportunities to submit designs in the future!

School Supplies for next year are for sale on the PTO website! THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PRIOR YEARS. Supply kits will be less expensive now, and we will be focusing on increasing our green efforts by reducing packaging, re-using supplies (if appropriate), and saving YOU time/. We have worked to make sure that supply kits are MORE affordable – and almost the same cost as buying them from the stores yourself! Kits averaged out to be approximately 20% cheaper than last year and will be delivered to your child’s classroom at the start of the year. A portion of the proceeds will support the PTO – consider donating your used and unused supplies at the end of the year so that we can reduce excess consumption. Orders due June 6th!
