Hello from Mrs. Pasquale and Ms. Girt
Dear Longfellow Families,
As we move through the winter months, we want to take a moment to check in and share a few reminders to help keep our students healthy, supported, and ready to learn.
Winter often brings colder weather and seasonal illnesses. We encourage families to continue practicing healthy habits at home, getting plenty of rest, washing hands regularly, and keeping students home when they are not feeling well. These small steps make a big difference in keeping our school community healthy.
We also know that winter can sometimes disrupt routines. Maintaining regular school routines, such as consistent bedtimes, arriving at school on time, and completing daily assignments, helps children feel secure and sets them up for success in the classroom. When routines are steady, students are better able to focus, learn, and enjoy their school day.
Most importantly, please remember that we are here to support you and your child. If your family is facing challenges, has questions, or needs assistance for any reason, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher, school secretaries, family liaison, or us. Open communication helps us work together to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and cared for.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for all you do to support your child’s learning. We are grateful to be part of such a caring school community and look forward to a strong and healthy winter season together.

Attendance Matters!
It is so important that students are at school every minute they are well enough to be! In Ohio, all absences count toward chronic absenteeism which is defined as missing 10% or more of total instructional time or about a half a day a week. Longfellow is working to improve our attendance. Currently, 25% of our students are chronically absent, let's move the needle together.
