December 2025 Recap
College of Education & Professional Studies Newsletter
Early Childhood Block Hosts Polar Express!
The Early Childhood Block hosted "Polar Express: Tickets to Learning," where preservice teachers designed engaging, hands-on stations in science, literacy, and math for first grade students from Kitty Stone Elementary.
Students rotated through each activity with their Polar Express tickets and earned a punch at every stop. They were curious, excited, and fully engaged in each station!
We are grateful for the Kitty Stone students and staff for being part of the event, and we were glad to welcome more than fifty dual enrollment students who joined us throughout the day!

RIC Hosts Professional Development Session
Dr. Troncaleβs students took their classroom learning to new heights by diving into a two-day PBL Works professional development offered by the Jax State Regional Inservice Center.
By exploring various techniques and strategies during the session, students gained tools for fostering active engagement and meaningful teaching and learning.
We extend our thanks to Valerie Curtis and Dean White for making this experience possible. Our pre-service teachers are grateful for your enthusiastic support!

Dr. Priscilla Wilson hoods one last time before retirement
Dr. Priscilla Wilson was honored to hood one last time during the Fall commencement. This past Fall marked Dr. Wilson's final semester with Jax State, following her announcement earlier in the year that she would retire at the end of December of 2025.
Thank you, Dr. Wilson, for your dedication to Jax State and the College of Education and Professional Studies.
Congratulations, Dr. Wilson, on your retirement!
Celebrating Success in Content Block
After an incredible semester, our dedicated elementary education teacher candidates impressed us with their presentations on the impact of their teaching in elementary education!
This culminating assignment, completed during their practicum, allowed them to apply their skills in real classroom settings and evaluate the effect of their teaching on student learning.
We are so proud of their hard work and commitment to shaping the future of education!
