Dear RNMS Families,

We are pleased to share that we have successfully completed this year’s New York State assessments. Thank you for your partnership in helping your children be well-prepared each day, ensuring devices were charged and that students came to school well-rested.

As we move into next week, we are looking forward to our Spring Concert on Thursday, May 14, featuring our band, strings, and chorus students. It promises to be a wonderful evening, and we hope to see many of you there to support our performers.

Have a great weekend, and happy Mother’s Day to all who are celebrating.

Best,

Jason Doerr
Principal

Wellness Day - Connection Part 2:

Our May Wellness Day theme of Connection kicked off last Friday with a simple but powerful activity. Students shared via a Google Form which teachers they feel most connected to and why. This week, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, those thoughtful responses were shared with staff, creating some truly meaningful moments across the building.

Today, the theme came to life in a big way with a PTSA-sponsored visit from So Fun Gameshow! Students took part in a one-of-a-kind, high-energy experience featuring original games, professional hosts, and a strong emphasis on teamwork, inclusion, and community-building. It was more than just fun--it was connection in action.

Special thanks to the PTSA for helping make this event happen. Check out the pics below!

Early Release Days 2025-2026: As part of our continued work on the district’s strategic plan, Rye Neck will hold six early release days this year. On these dates, middle school students will be dismissed at 1:10 p.m. Please note that second period will begin at 8:25 a.m. (instead of 8:33 a.m.), so we encourage families to plan accordingly to avoid lateness. You can view the adjusted schedule for these days in the middle column of our Bell Schedule chart. Our remaining early release date is June 3.

Math Tutoring:
Mu Alpha Theta, our high school math honor society, is excited to expand its peer tutoring services to support middle school students. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get extra help, build confidence, and strengthen their math skills while working with accomplished high school peers. Middle school math teachers have posted the corresponding Google Form in their Google Classrooms. If your child is interested in receiving tutoring, they must complete the form using their Rye Neck student account. We encourage families to take advantage of this great resource!
