๐ŸŒŸ It's Time for Your Annual Student Update! ๐ŸŒŸ It's Time for Your Annual Student Update!

Please follow the directions below to complete the Annual Student Update/Emergency Form for your child(ren) in Calvert County Public Schools. To access the Home Access Center (HAC) and complete the update, use this link: https://hac.calvertnet.k12.md.us/HomeAccess.

The deadline to complete is September 22, 2026.

You will need to log in to your Home Access Center (HAC) account to complete the Annual Student Update form electronically for each child who lives with you by Tuesday, September 22, 2026. This process replaces the emergency form and several other permission forms and acknowledgments that are required each school year. Only one guardian needs to complete this process, which is critical to school operations. Once each childโ€™s form is submitted, it will be marked complete in eSchoolPlus, our student information system.

As a reminder, please be sure to have the forms completed by Tuesday, September 22, 2026. If you have any questions or concerns about HAC or the Annual Student Update form, please contact your childโ€™s school.

DIRECTIONS:

Logging in to HAC: First, navigate to the Parents page of the Calvertnet website (www.calvertnet.k12.md.us) and select Home Access Center (HAC) under Quick Links. Next, enter your HAC username and password. If youโ€™ve never logged into HAC before, please use the โ€œClick Here to Register for HACโ€ link to sign up for an account. If you cannot remember your HAC username or password, please use the โ€œForgot My User Name or Passwordโ€ link. If you are unable to access HAC for any reason, please contact your childโ€™s school.

Completing the Annual Student Update: Once you are in HAC, click on the Registration menu item, then select the Update Enrollment tab and click โ€œStartโ€ next to Annual Student Update.

You may be asked to check a box affirming you are 13 years or older, click โ€œBegin Forms.โ€ Take your time filling out each section of the Annual Student Update form before submitting.

Completing the Annual Student Update for Additional Children: If you have other children who live with you, use the drop-down arrow in the upper right-hand corner of HAC (circled below) to toggle to another child. Select the circle next to the childโ€™s name, click โ€œSubmit,โ€ and navigate to the Update Enrollment tab in the Registration menu.

When you click โ€œStartโ€ on additional children, you will see the following prompt:

Selecting โ€œImportโ€ will use the previous submission to prefill some fields on the form such as emergency contacts, doctorโ€™s name, etc. and will save you time. Selecting โ€œStart from Scratchโ€ will use information that is already in eSchoolPlus for your next child, but it will not import any of the changes you entered for your first child. We recommend selecting โ€œImportโ€ if relevant information shared between your children was entered in the first Annual Student Update form you submitted. We recommend โ€œStart from Scratchโ€ if you would prefer to keep them separate.

Continue this process until the Annual Student Update form has been completed for each of the children who live with you.

Thank you.

ATTENDANCE EMAIL

In addition to sending hard copy notes, you may email notifications regarding student absences, late arrivals, or early dismissals to our attendance address: MESattendance@calvertnet.k12.md.us.

Please direct all related correspondence to this email.

Why Attendance Matters

Missing just 2 days of school each month adds up to 18+ days a year, putting students at risk academically. Chronic absenteeismโ€”missing 10% or more of the school year for any reasonโ€”affects learning, social-emotional growth, and future success.

Why Itโ€™s Important:

ยท Students who attend regularly are more likely to read on grade level by 3rd grade.

ยท Consistent attendance supports middle school achievement and high school graduation.

Calvert County Data:

ยท As of October 2025, Calvert Countyโ€™s chronic absenteeism rate is 14.4%, which is better than the Maryland average of 16.9%, but still above the statewide goal.

ยท Marylandโ€™s goal: Reduce chronic absenteeism from 30% to 15% by June 2026.

How Families Can Help:

ยท Set consistent routines for mornings and bedtimes.

ยท Schedule appointments outside school hours when possible.

ยท Communicate with us early if challenges arise.

ยท Celebrate attendance milestones with your child!

Together, we can ensure every student has the best chance to succeed. Questions or need support? Contact the school officeโ€”weโ€™re here to help!
