UPCOMING FIELD TRIP IN NOVEMBER!
BOSTON SCHOOL FOREST
Our 10th graders will spend the day at Boston School Forest next Monday, November 10! Since they’ll be outdoors most of the day, students should wear layers and dress appropriately for spending time outside in November weather.
Students should bring a packed lunch or contact the office first thing Monday morning if they haven’t already requested one from the cafeteria.
QUEEN TRIBUTE BAND AT THE GRAND THEATER
Our music students are heading out on a fun evening field trip to Wausau’s Grand Theater on Wednesday, November 19th to see a Queen tribute band, featuring some of the most iconic music from the 70s and 80s!
Students will depart from Point of Discovery around 5:00 PM, stop for dinner at Panda Express, and then head to the concert. We expect to return to school between 10:30–10:45 PM, and students will need transportation home from PoDS once the bus returns that night.
The cost of the trip is $60 per person, which covers concert tickets and transportation. Payments can be made directly to the PoDS office by cash or check.
This trip is open to music students, as well as a limited number of other students who are in good standing with their attendance and grades. A few spots are also available for parents or chaperones who would like to join in on the fun! Tickets are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you’d like to attend, please contact the PoDS office to sign up and reserve your spot!
STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES ARE NEXT WEEK!
At PoDs, conferences aren’t just about teachers sharing updates—they’re about students taking the lead. During these special meetings, your child will showcase their work, reflect on their growth, and set goals for the next quarter, with guidance from their Crew teacher. This year, conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, Wednesday, November 12, and Thursday, November 13.
A Note About Teacher Dinner
Our staff works hard to make these conferences meaningful. Dinner will be provided on Wednesday, and we’re asking families to help provide meals on Tuesday and Thursday. If you can contribute, please sign up using this document.
We look forward to seeing you and your student!
