A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Hello Montessori Families!

Carline safety is one of the top ways you can help keep our school community safe! While we are mostly getting into a good routine, please continue to tell all caregivers to stay inside their car at drop off and pick up. If a child needs assistance getting in or out of a car, please park on the East side of the speed bump and walk up. Additionally, if you are in carline, please be sure you are an alert driver. We have several walkers and bikers. Some have noticed drivers on their phone and had to jump out of the way! Please make sure you are not on your phone when driving to and through carline.

Our new lunch provider has lots of tasty options! Multiple options have been making lunch counts a touch trickier. We have had several students forget to submit their lunch choice and we sometimes do not have extras. Please make sure to talk to your child if they are having hot lunch, so they know to submit a lunch choice. If we run out of lunch options, we will have crackers and sun butter available.

A Note from the Division of Teaching and Learning

Hello Wauwatosa Families,

We are seeking participants to join the Wauwatosa Curriculum Council.

Curriculum Council serves as an important stakeholder connection to the Division of Teaching and Learning. Members engage in shared learning, provide feedback and perspective on work happening across the Division, and help us consider the experiences and needs of our students, families, educators, and community.

The Council will meet three times during the school year on Mondays from 4:30-6:00 p.m. The following dates will be when we meet:

October 26
February 22
May 10

We are seeking members with a variety of experiences, perspectives, schools, roles, and student age levels across our community.

If you are interested in serving on Curriculum Council, please complete this form by Monday, October 12th.

Following the interest period, we will review responses with the goal of creating a balanced and representative stakeholder team. We will communicate with all individuals who express interest to confirm membership by Friday, October 16th and share next steps before our first meeting on Monday, October 26th.

Save the Date: Tosa PTA Bucks Game - Friday, Dec. 18, 7 p.m.

Join other Wauwatosa School District families at the Fisver Forum to see the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Phoenix Suns. Students will have the opportunity to do the half time high five tunnel.

More details will be shared once available, including a link to discounted tickets in our reserved seating area. Thanks to the Wauwatosa Council of PTAs for organizing this experience!

Our feathered friends are settled in and it's time to name our Montessori Flock! Chicken Crew members have organized a fair way to choose names for each chicken AND hold a fundraiser for chicken supplies (new door timer and an outdoor shed). Names were collected the past weeks and narrowed down to 16!

Battle of the Books (BOB)

Is your student (4th-8th grade) interested in joining BOB?

Why Join?

To build a love of reading
To encourage students to read or listen to books they might not have chosen
To engage students in an academic team competition
To have fun!

Permission slips are due by Oct. 14.

BOB coaches are also needed. The time commitment is small. Your job is to meet with your 4-person team and encourage them. Fun quizzes and the answers will be supplied to coaches. Fresh Hot Popcorn every Tuesday

We will once again have the opportunity to order popcorn on Tuesdays. The price is $.75 per bag. Students order it on Tuesday morning and the Next Steps crew make the popcorn and deliver it same day. So yummy!
